UHF RFID Long Distance Reader 6M is a professional long-range RFID reader designed for vehicle access control, automatic gates, parking barriers, residential compounds, commercial parking areas and industrial entrances. With a reading distance of up to 6 metres, the reader can identify compatible passive UHF RFID vehicle tags without requiring the driver to stop and manually present a card.

The reader supports the ISO18000-6C (EPC Gen2) UHF RFID protocol and operates in the 902–928 MHz frequency range. Multiple communication interfaces including Wiegand 26/34, RS232 and RS485 make it suitable for integration with access control panels, parking management systems, automatic gate motors and parking barrier controllers.

Up to 6 Metre RFID Reading Distance

The UHF RFID reader provides a maximum identification distance of approximately 6 metres when used with suitable UHF RFID tags and correctly configured equipment.

Actual reading distance depends on the RFID tag type, tag position, antenna alignment, RF power setting, vehicle installation and surrounding environment. For vehicle access applications, correct reader and tag positioning is important for reliable identification.

Hands-Free Vehicle Access Control

A major advantage of a long-range UHF RFID reader is hands-free vehicle identification. A compatible passive UHF RFID tag can be installed on or inside the authorised vehicle.

When the vehicle approaches the entrance, the reader detects the authorised tag and sends the credential information to the connected access-control or parking system. The system can then activate the automatic gate or parking barrier according to its programmed access permissions.

ISO18000-6C EPC Gen2 RFID Technology

The 6M UHF reader supports ISO18000-6C / EPC Class 1 Gen2 compatible UHF RFID credentials. This widely used UHF standard is suitable for long-range identification applications including vehicle access, parking management, logistics and industrial access control.

902–928 MHz UHF Frequency

The reader operates in the 902–928 MHz UHF frequency range. RF output power can be adjusted up to 30 dBm, allowing the system to be configured according to the required identification area and installation environment.

The operating frequency and RF settings should always be configured according to applicable local radio regulations and project requirements.

Wiegand 26 & Wiegand 34 Output

The integrated Wiegand 26 and Wiegand 34 interfaces allow the UHF reader to connect with many compatible access-control panels and vehicle access systems.
