15 Metre Long Range UHF RFID Reader
The TMT Global TMT-7641 provides an RFID reading distance of up to approximately 15 metres when used with suitable UHF credentials and installed under appropriate conditions.
This long reading distance makes the system particularly suitable for vehicle access applications where authorised vehicles need to be identified before reaching an automatic gate or parking barrier.
Actual reading distance depends on the RFID tag type, tag position, reader installation angle, RF power setting, surrounding metal structures, interference and environmental conditions.
UHF RFID Vehicle Access Control
The TMT-7641 is an excellent solution for automatic vehicle identification. A compatible passive UHF RFID tag can be installed on or inside an authorised vehicle and detected automatically as the vehicle approaches the entrance.
The RFID credential can then be processed by a compatible access control or parking management system to authorise entry without requiring the driver to manually present a card at a short-range reader.
RFID Reader for Automatic Gate Motors
The TMT Global long range reader can be integrated into a complete automatic gate access control system. When an authorised UHF credential is detected, a compatible access controller can provide the required opening command to a sliding gate, swing gate or other automatic entrance.
This provides convenient hands-free vehicle access for villas, residential compounds, warehouses, factories and commercial properties.
UHF RFID Reader for Parking Barriers
The TMT-7641 is particularly suitable for automatic parking barrier applications. Authorised vehicles equipped with compatible UHF tags can be detected as they approach the barrier, allowing the access control system to process the credential before opening the boom barrier.
This can reduce waiting time and improve vehicle flow at busy residential, commercial and staff parking entrances.
Built-In 12 dBi Antenna
The reader incorporates a 12 dBi linear-polarization antenna inside the enclosure. This integrated design combines the RFID reader electronics and high-gain antenna into one unit, simplifying installation compared with systems requiring a separate external antenna.
Correct mounting angle and tag orientation are important for achieving stable long-range RFID detection.
Wiegand 26/34 Access Control Integration
The TMT-7641 provides a standard Wiegand 26/34 interface, allowing it to communicate with compatible access control panels and vehicle access systems.
In a typical installation, the long-range UHF reader identifies the RFID credential and sends the credential information to the access controller. The controller determines whether access is authorised and then activates the appropriate gate or barrier command.
RS-232 Communication
A standard RS-232 interface is also available for system configuration, communication and compatible software integration.
TMT Global also specifies an API development kit supporting C++ and C# for applicable customised software integrations.
Optional Communication Interfaces
Depending on the ordered configuration, TMT Global lists additional communication options including:
- RS-485
- 802.11 Wi-Fi module
- 10M/100M Ethernet
- 2-channel relay output
- 2-channel trigger input
- 2-channel level output
Important: These are optional configurations and should not be advertised as standard features unless they are included with the exact TMT-7641 unit being supplied.
EPC Gen2 / ISO18000-6C RFID Support
The TMT Global TMT-7641 supports EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO18000-6C UHF RFID credentials as well as ISO18000-6B.
Compatible passive UHF vehicle tags and cards can therefore be used for long-range identification without requiring a battery inside the credential.
IP66 Outdoor RFID Reader
With an IP66 protection rating, the TMT-7641 is designed for demanding access-control installations where the reader may be installed outdoors.
The specified operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C also makes the unit suitable for a wide range of environmental conditions when correctly installed.

Hands-Free Vehicle Entry
A properly configured long-range RFID system can provide convenient hands-free vehicle entry. The driver does not need to lower the window or manually present a proximity card to a reader.
As the authorised vehicle enters the configured reading area, the TMT-7641 detects its compatible UHF RFID credential and sends the identification data to the connected access control system.
TMT Global UHF RFID Reader Installation
For reliable long-range performance, the reader should be securely mounted and aimed toward the intended vehicle detection zone. Reader height, angle, RF output and RFID tag position should be adjusted during commissioning.
Installers should also avoid creating an unnecessarily large reading zone that could detect authorised tags from adjacent lanes or nearby vehicles. The final installation should be tested using the actual vehicles and RFID tags that will be used at the site.
