UHF-120 20M Long Range RFID Reader is a professional UHF vehicle identification reader designed for automatic gates, parking barriers, vehicle access control and parking management systems. With a reading distance of up to 20 metres, it enables fast, contactless identification of compatible passive UHF RFID vehicle tags without requiring the driver to stop and present a card at a conventional short-range reader.

The UHF-120 supports the ISO18000-6C (EPC Gen2) RFID protocol and operates in the 902–928 MHz UHF frequency range. Multiple communication interfaces including RS232, RS485, Wiegand 26 and Wiegand 34 make it suitable for integration with access controllers, automatic gate motors, parking barriers and vehicle access management systems.

20 Metre Vehicle RFID Identification

The UHF-120 provides a maximum RFID reading distance of up to 20 metres under suitable installation conditions. This allows compatible vehicle RFID tags to be identified before the vehicle reaches an automatic gate or parking barrier.

The actual reading distance depends on RFID tag type, mounting position, antenna alignment, RF power settings, vehicle position and surrounding environmental conditions.

Hands-Free Vehicle Access Control

Unlike conventional proximity card readers that require a card to be held close to the reader, the UHF-120 provides long-range hands-free vehicle identification.

A compatible passive UHF RFID tag can be installed on the vehicle. When an authorized vehicle approaches the entrance, the reader identifies the tag and sends the credential information to the connected access-control system.

Parking Barrier Integration

The UHF-120 is particularly suitable for automatic parking barrier systems. The reader can be connected to a compatible access controller using Wiegand, RS485 or another supported interface.

When an authorized RFID vehicle tag is detected, the access-control system can provide the opening command to the parking barrier. This creates a convenient automatic entrance for residents, staff, registered vehicles and authorized visitors.

Automatic Gate Integration

The UHF-120 can also be used with automatic sliding gates and swing gates. The RFID reader identifies the vehicle credential, while the connected access controller determines whether access should be granted.

Recommended Installation

For reliable long-range vehicle identification, the reader should be mounted with a clear directional view of the approaching vehicle lane. The antenna angle, mounting height and RF output should be adjusted during commissioning to obtain the required detection zone.

For entrances with multiple lanes, separate readers or carefully configured antenna positions may be required to prevent cross-reading between adjacent vehicles.
