UHF-105 5M Long Range RFID Reader is a professional passive UHF RFID reader designed for vehicle access control, automatic gates and parking barrier systems. With an adjustable reading distance of up to 5 metres, the UHF-105 enables hands-free identification of authorized vehicles without requiring the driver to present a card directly to the reader.

The UHF-105 operates in the 920–925 MHz UHF frequency range and supports ISO18000-6C (EPC Gen2) compatible UHF RFID tags. Multiple communication interfaces including Wiegand 26, Wiegand 34, RS232 and RS485 make it suitable for integration with access control panels, parking management systems, automatic gates and boom barriers.

5 Metre Long Range Vehicle Identification

The UHF-105 can identify compatible passive UHF RFID tags from distances of up to approximately 5 metres. The actual reading distance depends on the RFID tag, reader power setting, antenna alignment, mounting position, vehicle installation and surrounding environment.

This long reading distance makes the UHF-105 particularly suitable for vehicle entrances because authorized vehicles can be identified automatically as they approach the gate or parking barrier.

Hands-Free Vehicle Access Control

Unlike conventional short-range proximity card readers, a long range UHF RFID reader does not normally require the driver to stop, lower the vehicle window and present a card directly to the reader.

A compatible passive UHF RFID vehicle tag can be installed on the vehicle. When the authorized tag enters the reader's configured detection zone, the access control system can identify the credential and process the required gate or barrier opening command.

UHF RFID Reader for Automatic Gates

The UHF-105 can be integrated with automatic sliding gates and swing gate systems. The reader normally communicates with a compatible access controller through Wiegand, RS232 or RS485 depending on the system design.

After an authorized RFID credential is verified, the access control system can provide an opening signal to the automatic gate controller.

UHF RFID Reader for Parking Barriers

The UHF-105 is an excellent solution for automatic parking barrier access control. It can be used at residential compounds, staff parking areas, office buildings, warehouses, factories and private parking facilities where authorized vehicles require convenient automatic entry.

UHF-105 Installation Guidelines

For reliable long-range RFID performance, the reader should be mounted where the antenna has a clear detection path toward approaching vehicles. The mounting angle and height should be adjusted according to the position of the RFID tag on the vehicle.

The reading range should be configured so the system identifies vehicles in the intended lane without unintentionally reading tags from adjacent lanes or nearby vehicles.
