DEA LINEAR photocells are automatic gate infrared safety sensors designed for compatible DEA SYSTEM gate automation. Supplied as a pair of transmitter and receiver photocells, they create an infrared safety beam across the gate entrance to help detect vehicles, pedestrians and other obstacles during automatic gate operation.

The DEA LINEAR photocells feature 180° adjustable optics, making alignment easier where the transmitter and receiver cannot be mounted perfectly opposite each other. With a maximum stated operating range of 20 metres, they are suitable for compatible DEA sliding gate motors, swing gate motors, automatic barriers and other gate automation installations.

DEA LINEAR Technical Specifications

20 Metre Automatic Gate Safety Photocell

The DEA LINEAR photocell provides a maximum stated detection distance of up to 20 metres. A transmitter is installed on one side of the entrance and the receiver on the opposite side, creating an infrared beam across the gate opening.

When an obstacle interrupts the beam, the photocell sends a safety signal to the compatible gate control system. The controller can then stop or reverse gate movement according to its programming and safety configuration.

180° Adjustable Photocell Optics

One of the main advantages of DEA LINEAR photocells is the 180° adjustable optical system. This allows the photocell beam direction to be adjusted during installation instead of requiring both housings to face each other perfectly.

This feature can simplify installations on gate pillars, walls and entrances where mounting surfaces are not ideally aligned.

DEA LINEAR Photocell Installation

The transmitter and receiver should be securely mounted on opposite sides of the gate entrance at a suitable height for detecting vehicles and other expected obstacles. The 180° adjustable optics can then be used to correctly align the infrared beam.

After wiring and alignment, the installer should test the photocell system throughout multiple gate opening and closing cycles to confirm that interruption of the beam produces the correct safety response.
