The SOMFY ELIXO 500 3S RTS is designed for compatible sliding gates weighing up to 500 KG. It is particularly suitable for villa entrances, residential sliding gates, private driveways and small collective access points.
Correct motor selection should consider more than gate weight alone. Gate length, wheel condition, track alignment, gear rack condition, mechanical resistance and daily operating frequency should all be checked before installation.
24V DC Sliding Gate Automation
The ELIXO 500 uses a 24V DC motor combined with SOMFY's 3S electronic control system. This provides controlled gate movement together with programmable opening and closing behaviour.
The 24V system also allows the automation to work with compatible SOMFY backup battery solutions where uninterrupted access during a mains power failure is required.
SOMFY 3S Control System
The 3S electronic control system provides an advanced programming interface for professional gate installation and adjustment.
The control system uses 7 programming buttons and a 3-character LCD display, allowing the installer to configure and diagnose the automatic gate system directly from the motor controller.
SOMFY RTS 433.42 MHz Radio Technology

The controller can memorize up to 40 radio channels, allowing compatible SOMFY RTS transmitters and control points to be registered with the gate automation system.
Fast Opening Up to 20 cm/s
The SOMFY ELIXO 500 provides sliding gate movement of up to approximately 20 cm per second, helping reduce waiting time when entering or leaving a property.
Opening and closing speeds can be configured through the 3S control system, allowing the installer to adjust gate movement according to the installation requirements.
Automatic Closing Function
The ELIXO 500 3S RTS supports programmable automatic closing. The gate can automatically close after a selected waiting period without requiring another remote-control command.
SOMFY's 3S control system allows the automatic reclosing delay to be programmed according to the required operating configuration.
Automatic closing should only be activated after compatible safety devices have been correctly installed and tested.
Pedestrian / Partial Opening
The SOMFY ELIXO 500 supports a partial opening function for pedestrian access. Instead of opening the complete sliding gate, the automation can move the gate only far enough to provide pedestrian entry.
This is useful for villas and residential properties where the main vehicle gate is also regularly used by people entering on foot.
Gradual Starting & Adjustable Speed
The 3S control system supports gradual starting together with programmable opening and closing speeds.

Photocell Safety Integration
The SOMFY ELIXO 500 3S RTS supports compatible TX/RX photoelectric cells, BUS photocells and reflex photocells through its programmable safety inputs.
Photocells monitor the protected gate entrance. When their beam is interrupted by a vehicle, person or object, the controller responds according to its programmed safety configuration.
Obstacle & Safety Management
The 3S control system provides configurable safety behaviour during automatic gate movement. Depending on the safety device and programmed settings, the controller can stop movement or provide partial or complete reopening when the relevant safety input is activated.
Correct installation and testing of all safety devices is essential before the automatic sliding gate is placed into normal operation.
Manual Key Release
The SOMFY ELIXO 500 incorporates a manual release system that allows the motor to be disengaged when manual gate movement is required.
This provides manual access during a power failure, maintenance or troubleshooting of the automatic gate system.
Optional Backup Battery
The 3S RTS control system supports compatible SOMFY backup battery packs. Somfy specifies compatible 9.6V and 24V battery solutions for the controller.
With the appropriate battery installed, Somfy specifies approximately 24 hours of backup autonomy and around 5 to 10 operating cycles, depending on the gate. Battery charging time is approximately 48 hours.
Note: Backup battery performance depends on the gate and installation conditions, and the battery is an optional accessory unless specifically included in the supplied package.
Advanced Diagnostics
The SOMFY 3S controller provides useful diagnostic information for professional installation and maintenance.
Diagnostic data includes the gate cycle counter, obstacle-detection cycle counter, number of memorized radio channels and a history of the last 10 recorded faults. This can help technicians identify and troubleshoot automation problems more efficiently.
