300 KG Swing Gate Motor Per Leaf

The SOMMER twist 200 E can automate a swing gate weighing up to 300 kg per leaf. This makes it an excellent solution for villa entrances, residential properties and suitable light commercial swing gates.

Important: The 300 kg specification applies to each gate leaf under the manufacturer's specified conditions. SOMMER specifies the maximum 300 kg gate weight with a maximum leaf width of approximately 1.5 metres for a single-leaf system.

For longer gate leaves, the allowable gate weight is reduced. A gate leaf up to 2.5 metres is specified with a maximum weight of 200 kg.

For Swing Gates Up to 2.5 Metres Per Leaf

SOMMER specifies a gate leaf length from approximately 0.825 m up to 2.5 m for the twist 200 E.

Motor selection should therefore consider both gate weight and gate leaf length. A 2.5 m gate leaf should not automatically be assumed to support the full 300 kg maximum weight.

Powerful 2,000 N Linear Gate Operator

The twist 200 E produces a maximum pulling and pushing force of 2,000 N per leaf, with a rated force of 660 N.

The linear actuator design provides controlled opening and closing movement while the electronic control system monitors the operator force during gate travel.

24V DC Swing Gate Automation

The SOMMER twist 200 E uses a 24V DC motor controlled through the dedicated SOMMER gate control unit. The complete system is supplied from a 220–240V AC, 50–60 Hz mains connection.

Do not select a swing gate motor using gate weight alone. Important factors include the weight of each leaf, leaf length, hinge position, pillar dimensions, opening angle, wind exposure, gate construction and operating frequency.

For example, although the twist 200 E has a maximum specification of 300 kg per leaf, SOMMER limits the maximum 2.5 m leaf to 200 kg. Larger or heavier gates may require a higher-capacity SOMMER swing gate operator.
