400 KG Automatic Sliding Gate Motor
The NICE ROBUS 400 RB400 is designed for compatible sliding gates weighing up to 400 KG. It is particularly suitable for residential villas, private homes, townhouses and other entrances requiring reliable everyday automatic gate operation.
Gate weight should not be the only factor used when selecting an automatic gate motor. Gate length, wheel condition, track alignment, mechanical resistance and expected daily usage should also be checked before installation.
Sliding Gates Up to 8 Metres
The NICE RB400 can automate compatible sliding gates with a leaf length of up to approximately 8 metres. For longer gates, the permitted operating frequency is lower because each complete opening and closing movement requires more motor running time.
NICE specifies up to 35 cycles per hour for gates up to 4 metres and approximately 20 cycles per hour for gates up to 8 metres, subject to correct installation and operating conditions.
24V DC Gate Motor
The ROBUS 400 uses a 24V DC electromechanical motor powered through its integrated electronic control system from a 230V AC mains supply.
The low-voltage motor system allows intelligent speed management, acceleration, slowdown, obstacle detection and other electronic gate automation functions.
NICE BlueBUS Technology
The NICE BlueBUS system simplifies the connection of compatible NICE safety and automation accessories. Compatible BlueBUS devices can communicate with the control unit using only two wires.
This reduces wiring complexity and makes it easier to connect compatible NICE photocells and other BlueBUS accessories to the automatic gate system.
Electromechanical Limit Switch
The original NICE RB400 uses an electromechanical limit switch to determine the gate's opening and closing end positions.
This is an important distinction between the RB400 and the newer NICE RBS400 generation, which uses a different limit-switch arrangement.
Automatic Gate Travel Learning
The integrated NICE control system can learn the gate movement and connected safety devices during commissioning. Correct programming allows the controller to manage acceleration, normal running speed and slowdown near the gate's end positions.
Obstacle Detection & Gate Safety
The ROBUS 400 control system monitors gate movement and can detect abnormal resistance during operation. When correctly configured, the controller can respond to an obstacle according to its programmed safety settings.
Compatible NICE BlueBUS photocell sensors should be installed where required to provide additional protection for vehicles and pedestrians using the automatic entrance.
Smooth Start & Slowdown
The electronic control system provides controlled acceleration and deceleration to help produce smooth automatic gate movement. Slowdown near the opening and closing positions helps reduce mechanical shock to the motor, gate rack, wheels and gate structure.
Temperature Monitoring
The NICE ROBUS system incorporates temperature monitoring to help adapt operation according to environmental conditions and provide thermal protection for the motor.
This is particularly useful for automatic gate installations exposed to changing outdoor temperatures.
Master / Slave Dual Sliding Gate Function
The ROBUS system supports a Master / Slave configuration for suitable installations requiring two synchronized sliding gate motors.
This can be used for compatible opposing sliding gates where two gate leaves must open and close in a coordinated sequence.
Manual Emergency Release
The NICE RB400 includes a manual release mechanism so the sliding gate can be operated manually when necessary, such as during a power failure or maintenance procedure.
The gate should move smoothly and safely by hand before automatic operation is restored.
