NICE MC800 is an original NICE electronic swing gate motor control unit designed to control one or two 230V swing gate motors. Supplied complete with a protective enclosure, the MC800 combines NICE BlueBUS technology, Opera system compatibility, programmable gate functions and provision for an SM plug-in radio receiver.

The NICE MC800 is suitable for compatible residential and commercial swing gate automation systems and is commonly used with NICE WINGO operators including WG4000 and WG5000. Its advanced microprocessor logic provides gradual starting, deceleration, automatic position memorisation, pedestrian opening and programmable opening and closing functions.

NICE MC800 Technical Specifications

Control Unit for One or Two 230V Swing Gate Motors

The NICE MC800 can manage either a single swing gate motor or two swing gate motors. For double-leaf gates, separate M1 and M2 motor outputs allow the controller to coordinate both operators and manage the required opening and closing sequence.

The delay between the two leaves can be programmed to suit the physical gate arrangement, helping prevent the leaves from interfering with each other during operation.

NICE BlueBUS Technology

One of the main advantages of the MC800 is NICE BlueBUS technology. Compatible BlueBUS safety and control accessories can communicate with the control unit using only two wires, simplifying installation and reducing the amount of accessory wiring required.

The BlueBUS output supports compatible NICE photocells and control devices according to the limits specified by NICE.

NICE Opera System Compatible

The MC800 is compatible with the NICE Opera automation system, allowing advanced programming, diagnostics and automation management using compatible NICE interfaces and programming devices.

This provides professional installers with additional configuration and diagnostic capabilities when commissioning or servicing a NICE swing gate system.

Automatic Gate Travel Learning

The NICE MC800 incorporates automatic memorisation of the gate operating positions. During commissioning, the control unit can learn the movement of the connected swing gate operators and use the stored positions to manage normal gate operation.

Correct mechanical stops, motor installation geometry and gate movement remain important for reliable automation.

Gradual Start & Deceleration

The MC800 provides advanced motor-control functions including gradual starting and deceleration. These functions help provide smoother swing gate movement during acceleration and when approaching the opening and closing positions.

Automatic Closing

The NICE MC800 supports automatic gate closing with an adjustable pause time. NICE specifies a programmable pause period from approximately 5 to 180 seconds.

The required automatic-closing behaviour should be configured together with suitable photocell safety sensors and other safety devices according to the installation.

Pedestrian Opening Function

The MC800 includes a pedestrian passage function, allowing partial gate operation when full opening of both leaves is not required. This can provide convenient pedestrian access through a compatible swing gate installation.

NICE MC800 Safety Inputs

The control unit provides inputs for compatible safety and command devices, including the BlueBUS system and STOP input. The STOP input can work with normally-open, normally-closed or compatible 8.2 kΩ resistive safety contacts with self-learning.

Photocell sensors should be correctly configured and tested during commissioning to ensure the gate responds appropriately when the safety beam is interrupted.

Electric Lock Output

For swing gates requiring an electric lock, the MC800 provides a dedicated 12V AC output with a maximum rating of 15VA.

This is useful on compatible swing gates where an electric lock is required to secure the leaves in the closed position.

Flashing Light & Gate Open Indicator

The MC800 provides a dedicated output for a compatible 120/230V warning flashing light up to 21W. A separate 24V gate-open indicator output up to 4W is also available.

NICE SM Plug-In Radio Receiver

The NICE MC800 includes an SM quick connector for a compatible NICE plug-in radio receiver. This allows the automation system to be configured with compatible NICE remote controls and receiver technology.

Important: The MC800 should not be advertised as having a built-in radio receiver unless the receiver is actually included in the product or kit you are selling. NICE specifies the controller as having provision for an SM plug-in receiver.
