BFT PHOBOS AC A50 is a heavy-duty 230V electromechanical swing gate operator designed for large gate leaves weighing up to 500 kg and measuring up to 5 metres. With a long 460 mm useful rod stroke, electronic clutch, slowdown function and semi-intensive duty rating, it is an excellent solution for large residential villas, compounds and commercial swing gate entrances.

The PHOBOS AC A50 is the long-leaf model in BFT's PHOBOS AC range. It works with the BFT RIGEL 6 control panel and provides dependable automation for large single- and double-leaf swing gates.

The BFT PHOBOS AC A50 is designed for large swing gate leaves up to 5 metres long and with a maximum specified weight of up to 500 kg. It is particularly suitable for large villa gates, residential compounds, commercial entrances and other applications requiring a long linear swing gate actuator.

The actual permitted gate weight and length depend on gate construction, hinge condition, installation geometry, wind exposure and operating frequency. These factors should always be checked before installation.

Important Electric Lock Requirement

The PHOBOS AC A50 can be used as a self-locking operator for gate leaves up to approximately 3 metres. For longer gate leaves extending up to the maximum 5 metre rating, an appropriate electric gate lock is required.

This is especially important for large gates because the additional leaf length creates greater leverage and wind loading on the automation system.

230V Electromechanical Swing Gate Motor

The PHOBOS AC A50 uses a 230V single-phase electromechanical motor with approximately 210 W absorbed power. Its irreversible worm-drive mechanism provides reliable automatic opening and closing for large swing gates.

BFT RIGEL 6 Control Panel

The recommended control panel for the PHOBOS AC A50 is BFT RIGEL 6. This universal 230V control system manages the swing gate operators and provides connections for compatible command and safety accessories.

Electronic Clutch and Slowdown

The 230V PHOBOS AC A50 uses an electronic clutch for impact reaction and supports slowdown during gate operation. Correct setup provides more controlled movement as the gate approaches the end of travel.

Photocell sensors and other appropriate safety devices should also be correctly installed and tested as part of the complete automatic swing gate system.

Working-Time Travel Management

The PHOBOS AC A50 uses working-time-based travel management. The control system manages the operating time rather than relying on conventional integrated electrical opening and closing limit switches.
