BEA MATRIX-D220 is a professional dual-channel inductive vehicle loop detector designed to monitor two independent vehicle detection loops. Dual Channel Vehicle Detection
The main advantage of the BEA MATRIX-D220 is its ability to monitor two inductive vehicle loops. This allows two separate detection zones to be created for professional parking, gate and traffic-management applications.
Dual-loop operation can be particularly useful for entry and exit detection, direction recognition and installations requiring separate vehicle presence zones.
Direction Detection with Two Loops
BEA specifies directionality capability for the 2-channel MATRIX. By positioning two loops correctly, the system can determine the direction in which a vehicle moves across the detection zones.

Direct 220–240V AC Operation
The MATRIX-D220 is the mains-powered dual-channel version of the MATRIX family. It operates from 230V AC ±10%, eliminating the need for the 12–24V power source required by the MATRIX-D12-24.
Automatic Loop Tuning
The MATRIX-D220 automatically tunes itself to the connected inductive loops. This simplifies commissioning and helps provide stable long-term vehicle detection when the loops are correctly installed.
Adjustable Vehicle Detection Sensitivity
Sensitivity is adjustable from approximately 0.005% to 0.5% ΔL/L. This allows the detector to be configured according to loop dimensions, site conditions and the types of vehicles that need to be detected.
Presence & Pulse Detection Modes
The BEA MATRIX-D220 supports presence and pulse detection. Presence mode can maintain the detector output while a vehicle remains above the loop, while pulse mode provides a short output for compatible automation or traffic-control functions.
Pulse output can be configured for 100 ms or 500 ms, while presence time can be set from approximately 1 minute to infinite.
