NICE EPM is a professional infrared photocell safety sensor designed for automatic sliding gates, swing gates, garage doors and compatible gate automation systems. Supplied as a transmitter and receiver pair, the EPM creates an infrared safety beam across the gate opening to detect vehicles, people and other obstacles.
With a nominal operating range of up to 15 metres, 24V AC/DC power supply, synchronized photocell technology and IP44 protection, NICE EPM provides reliable obstacle detection for residential and commercial automatic gate installations.

15 Metre Infrared Gate Safety Detection
The NICE EPM provides an infrared safety beam with a nominal operating distance of up to 15 metres. The transmitter and receiver are installed opposite each other across the protected gate opening.
When a vehicle, person or other obstacle interrupts the infrared beam, the photocell relay changes state and sends a signal to the connected automation control panel. The exact gate response depends on the safety input and control-panel programming.
Synchronized NICE Photocell Technology
NICE EPM uses synchronized photocell technology designed to improve reliability when multiple safety photocell pairs are installed in the same automation system.
Automatic synchronization helps reduce interference between nearby photocell pairs, making the EPM suitable for more complex automatic gate installations where multiple safety beams are required.
24V AC/DC Power Supply
The NICE EPM operates from a 24V AC/DC power supply, allowing it to be connected to compatible NICE control boards and other suitable automation controllers providing the required accessory supply voltage.
Before installation, always verify the photocell accessory output voltage and safety-input terminals of the gate control panel.
Relay Output Photocell
The EPM uses a conventional relay output for connection to compatible safety inputs. The relay contact is rated up to 500 mA at 48V.
This conventional wired design is important when selecting between NICE EPM and NICE EPMB. The EPM should be used where a traditional relay-contact photocell connection is required.

Important: Do not confuse EPM with EPMB. Although the housings look similar, the electrical connection system is different. Check your NICE control-board model before ordering.
IP44 Outdoor Gate Photocell
The NICE EPM has an IP44 protection rating and an operating temperature range of -20°C to +50°C. Its compact ABS housing is designed for surface-mounted gate automation installations.
For reliable operation, the transmitter and receiver should be correctly aligned and positioned where the infrared beam provides effective protection across the gate movement area.

NICE EPM Safety Sensor for Sliding Gates
