BENINCA PUPILLA is a professional pair of adjustable photocell safety sensors designed for automatic gates, garage doors, parking barriers and compatible access automation systems. The photocells can be adjusted through 180°, providing excellent installation flexibility where the transmitter and receiver cannot be mounted perfectly opposite each other.
PUPILLA operates from a 22–30 Vac or 20–28 Vdc power supply and supports synchronization of up to 4 pairs of photocells. An integrated LED assists the installer in achieving optimal alignment, helping provide reliable safety-beam operation.

A major advantage of the BENINCA PUPILLA is its ability to rotate through 180 degrees. This provides greater installation flexibility compared with a conventional fixed photocell.
The adjustable design is particularly useful when gate posts, walls or other installation surfaces do not allow the transmitter and receiver to be mounted directly facing each other.
LED-Assisted Photocell Alignment
BENINCA PUPILLA includes an LED that indicates optimal alignment. This helps the installer correctly align the transmitter and receiver during installation and servicing.
Correct photocell alignment is important for reliable obstacle detection and helps prevent intermittent safety-beam faults caused by poor positioning.

The BENINCA PUPILLA system supports synchronization of up to four pairs. This is useful for automatic gate installations requiring multiple photocell safety points.
Synchronization helps multiple photocell pairs operate correctly in the same installation while reducing unwanted interference between adjacent safety beams.
Automatic Gate Safety & Obstacle Detection
PUPILLA photocells create a safety beam across the automatic entrance. When a vehicle, person or other obstacle interrupts the beam, the connected automation control board can respond according to its programmed photocell safety logic.
Depending on the control-board configuration, a photocell input may prevent closing, stop movement or reverse the gate when an obstacle is detected.

BENINCA PUPILLA vs PUPILLA.T
PUPILLA and PUPILLA.T are different models. Standard PUPILLA provides adjustment through 180°, operates at 22–30 Vac / 20–28 Vdc and can synchronize up to four pairs.
The newer PUPILLA.T uses three adjustable positions, operates at 14–30 Vac / 12–30 Vdc and allows two pairs to be installed close together without synchronization. Always check the exact model before replacement.
BENINCA PUPILLA Installation
Install the transmitter and receiver on opposite sides of the automatic entrance. Rotate the adjustable photocells as required until the units are correctly aligned, using the integrated LED to identify the optimal position.
Connect the photocells to the compatible safety input and accessory power supply of the automation control board. After installation, test the safety function during several complete opening and closing cycles.
