Key Selector for Automatic Gates
The Nice Era EKS allows an automatic gate or door to be operated using a physical key. Turning the key activates the connected command input, while the automatic-return mechanism returns the selector to its neutral position after operation.
This makes the EKS particularly useful for entrances where authorised users, security personnel, maintenance technicians or property managers require a simple wired method of controlling the automation.
Surface-Mounted Nice Key Switch
The EKS is the surface-mounted version of the Nice Era Key Switch range. Its enclosure projects approximately 32 mm from the mounting surface and measures approximately 70 × 32 × 70 mm.
Surface mounting makes installation practical on gate pillars, walls and other suitable locations without requiring the deeper recess needed for an embedded key selector.
Automatic-Return Key Operation
The Nice EKS incorporates an automatic-return lock. After the key is turned to send a gate command, the selector returns to its normal position when the key is released.
This momentary operation makes it suitable for connection to compatible automation command inputs such as step-by-step, open or other functions according to the control-panel configuration.
IP44 Protection for Outdoor Installation
The Nice Era EKS has an IP44 protection rating. The electrical contacts and operating levers are protected inside the selector's enclosure to provide reliable operation when correctly installed.
For outdoor installation, the selector should be mounted correctly and all cable entries should be properly sealed according to the manufacturer's installation instructions.
10(2)A – 250VAC Contact Rating
The EKS electrical contacts are rated at 10(2)A – 250VAC. Nice also specifies that the Era Key Switch can be used as a direct motor command in certain mains-powered 230VAC applications.
For normal gate automation installations, the key switch is commonly connected to the appropriate command terminals of the automation control panel. Always follow the wiring requirements of the specific control board.
